Collection of Essays 2024

In lieu of the fact that it is results day (congratulations!) and I am currently on holiday, for this month, please enjoy a collection of essays I have written over the past year!

The first of these is my very first academic essay, titled “Assessing the Adequacy of the Mathematics Curriculum in Preparing Students for Post-16 Pathways”, an extension of my EPQ project found here. This was written in collaboration with my teacher at Oxford International College, and aims to address the positives and downfalls of the current mathematics curriculum; further positing several possible solutions. You can download this below :

This next one was submitted for the competition HIMCM back in October, on which I collaborated with several peers. This aimed to address how Oxford could transform itself into the next electric-bus hub with a mathematical model. Read more about this below :

The following three articles were all submitted to various competitions.

The first of these talks about the music theory of negative harmony, blending music theory and mathematical principles to reveal how reflecting chords around a tonic note creates alternative progressions.

This essay talks about the significance of primes, and how this affects us in the modern world.

This final one talks about the importance of mathematical collaboration, and how this should be treated going forward with the rapid growth of technology and artificial intelligence.

Thank you so much for reading, and I will see you next month with an post about the theory of special relativity and time dilation (so stay tuned)!
